CULTIVATING INNOVATION AT FOSSIL GROUP
ABOUT THE PROJECT
BELOW YOU’LL SEE A SNIPPET OF MY 2023 ‘INSPIRATION LAB’ PROJECT FOR FOSSL GROUP.
THE GOAL WAS TO IDENTIFY UPCOMING ACCESSORY TRENDS AND PARTNER WITH FOSSIL GROUP VENDORS OUTSIDE OF SEASONAL DEVELOPMENT CYCLES TO HIGHLIGHT PRODUCT APPLICATIONS FOR THESE TRENDS.
After THE 2023 ‘Inspiration Lab’, the Skagen jewelry team adopted ONE OF THE FEATURED MATERIAL TECHNIQUES and used it FOR their SPRING 2025 PRODUCT story.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT, TREND RESEARCH & ANALYSIS, cross-department COLLABORATION, presentation skills, storytelling
THE TREND: NOVEL SENTIMENT
With uncertainty dominating the daily narrative, consumers will covet a legacy that endures — EMBRACING nostalgia to gain respite from reality.
Embracing a romantic view of the past with optimism for the present, these consumers will seek accessories with a playful take on traditional shapes, heritage hues, and historic textures.
THE APPLICATION: TACTILE HISTORY
DRIVEN BY THE RISING POPULARITY OF VINTAGE GOODS, CONSUMERS WILL BE DRAWN TO METALS WITH DEPTH LIKE IMPERFECT finishes AND EMBELLISHED DETAILS.
